- Apple ID Identifier: A unique, app-specific identifier provided by Apple for authentication purposes
- Name: Only if you choose to share it during Sign in with Apple
Health & Fitness Data
Caliro AI accesses and collects the following health and fitness data, with your explicit permission, to provide its core features:
- Step Count: Daily step data (via the Motion & Fitness / Core Motion framework) to track your physical activity
- Distance Traveled: Distance data derived from step count and movement patterns
- Fitness Profile: Height, weight, age, and BMI data you provide to personalize your health insights
- Calorie & Nutrition Data: Daily calorie intake and macronutrient tracking (protein, carbs, fat) based on your food scans
- Weight History: Weight entries you log for progress tracking
How this data is used: Health and fitness data is used solely to provide personalized fitness tracking, calorie progress monitoring, and BMI calculations within the app. This data is stored locally on your device and is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
Camera & Food Data
- Meal Photos: Images you capture or select are temporarily processed by Google's Gemini AI for nutritional analysis. Photos are NOT permanently stored on our servers.
- Scan Usage: We track the number of free scans you've used against your account's free scan allowance
- Subscription Status: Whether you have an active premium subscription (verified via RevenueCat / the App Store)
Device Information
- Local Storage: Meal history, step history, and health analysis results are stored locally on your device only
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Authentication: To verify your identity and manage your account via Sign in with Apple
- Health Tracking: To display your daily step count and step history
- Fitness Insights: To calculate BMI, track weight, and provide health recommendations based on your profile

- Payment Information: Handled securely by Apple's App Store and RevenueCat; we never see your payment or card details.
4. Permissions We Request
Caliro AI requests the following iOS permissions and explains why each is needed:
- Camera (NSCameraUsageDescription): To capture meal photos for nutritional analysis
- Photo Library (NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription): To allow you to select existing photos for food scanning
- Motion & Fitness (NSMotionUsageDescription): To read your step count and estimate calories burned from daily activity
- Notifications: To send step goal reminders and health alerts, only if you opt in

- Photos: Never permanently stored, immediately discarded after analysis
- Health Data: Stored locally on your device; deleted when you uninstall the app
9. Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
10. International Users
If you are accessing our service from outside the United States, please note that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using our service, you consent to this transfer.
